Overview
Ross Island is a small island in the Andaman archipelago, located 3 km east of Port Blair. It was the capital of the Andaman Islands during the British rule and was also known as the Paris of the East. The island has many historical ruins, such as the Cellular Jail, the Chief Commissioner’s House, the Presbyterian Church, and the Japanese Bunkers. The island also has a rich flora and fauna, with many deer, peacocks, and exotic birds. Ross Island is a popular tourist attraction and can be reached by ferry from Port Blair.
